The king of Scandanavia cruise ship is capable of carrying 1534 passengers and 600 cars and has been used on this route since March 2008. It was completly renovated in 2006 It has a great choice entertainment to choose from including several restaurants, a nightclub, two cinemas, a casino, a childrens club, a number of shops and a programme evening of entertainment and dancing. The choice of cabins to choose from ranges from Economy to luxury.

Getting to the Ferry Port Newcastle

By car
From the west follow signs to the City, & then signs for coast which leads to the A1058. Follow signs to ferries & North Sea, which leads to the Royal Quays. From both the north & south follow A19 to Tyne Tunnel roundabout which is north of the River Tyne and then follow signs to ferries & North Sea, which leads to the Royal Quays.

By train
Newcastle Central station is the main train station and is well connected with the rest of the UK. There is a connecting bus service to the ferry terminal that departs 2 hours 20 minutes, and 1 hour 15 minutes prior to each sailing.

By bus
There is a frequent National Express service operating various coaches to Newcastle stopping at Gallowgate station (St James Metro) opposite St James' Park football ground.
